WESONATOR May News Update

Things have been crazy busy since the last update.

Mixing and Mastering has continued at the Sonic Cuisine for various acts and in the mean time there's some very cool news to share with you all.

I have the great pleasure to announce that I am now officially a member of the RAK family. Thank you Trish, Nats, Andy, Robbie, Mike, Jen, Kev and the entire RAK crew for welcoming me to the fold.

RAK has been keeping me busy. Been spending a lot of time going back to my classical roots with the amazing Parker. We started recording her in Studio 1 for her Youtube vids, performing Chopin, Debussy, Scarlatti and Copland. This lead to a new EP recording in Studio 3 on a killer Steinway D.

And what do you know, my super assistant, Max Anstruther, turns out to a fab jazz pianist and composer. We've gone into the studio together to record drums, bass, piano, guitars (stoked to be playing the axe on this one) and vocals for his brand new Mottled Gray record.

Meanwhile Mix Magazine sent me out to Vienna to write the cover story on the Vienna Symphonic Library Synchron Stage. What a place! Read about it here

Lots more news to follow but first time to get back to the faders.

See you on the other or the same side of the glass.

Wesonator Summer Recap & Autumn Preview

Hi my fellow audio nuts,

It's been a really busy summer. Most of my time has been spent at the beautiful and brand new Studio CMI in Switzerland finishing off the Leelo Pascal album "Couleur Nature". Pascal also asked me to record drums and bass for Amadou's new album and during my last trip over I was asked to record Yassin's killer rap vocals for the Isorane album Leelo is producing.

Between my time in the alps and the cheese fondues, we finished the new Monster Jaw EP "Losing All My Friends" and put the finishing touches on Debi Doss's debut EP "Debi Does ...".

In the mean time, there are a few projects on the stove at the Sonic Cuisine. The Sam Purdey mix is a few tweaks away from completion. Gloria Nuti's new track is making great progress and will soon feature some cool B3 playing. And finally, work is about to start on the new Delta Unit tracks. I'll keep you posted on all these as they come along.

On the media side of things, I had the great honour to interview two of Canada's greatest, GGGarth Richardson and Mike Fraser for Mix Magazine. And I did some cool vids for Tannoy.

That's it for now. Enjoy the reads, the photos and the videos.

As always, See you on the other side of the glass.

Wesonator & Mix "Build" $50K Analogue Studio

Mix Magazine asked me to write an article about spec'ing your own studio: My $50,000 old-school studio boasts brave analogue in a new digital world. And Markkus Rovito's $50K shows how to achieve a total in-the-box set up.
